Jakarta, Aug. 12 -- The Ministry of Forestry, in collaboration with various institutions, conducted the third phase of weather modification operations (OMC) to control forest and land fires (karhutla) in Riau.

The ministry's Director General of Law Enforcement, Dwi Januanto Nugroho, stated on Tuesday that his office, together with the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), the Riau Provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), and the Indonesian Air Force, officially launched the third phase of OMC in Riau Province.
