Jakarta, Dec. 30 -- Jakarta's mass rapid transit (MRT) service is set to extend its operating hours for New Year 2026 celebrations, running from 5 a.m. Wednesday (December 31) until 2 a.m. Thursday (January 1).

"The special operational scheme will only be valid for two days," said Rendy Primartantyo, Corporate Secretary Division Chief at PT MRT Jakarta, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He explained that once the arrangement ends, MRT trains will resume normal operating hours on Friday (January 2), from 5 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. local time.
