Jakarta, July 22 -- Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia stated that 18 downstreaming projects have the potential to generate hundreds of thousands of jobs, supporting efforts to equalize national economic growth.
"These (downstreaming projects) will create decent jobs with fair wages," Lahadalia stated at the "Submission of Pre-Feasibility Study Documents for National Priority Downstreaming and Energy Security Projects" event here on Tuesday.
In total, the 18 projects are expected to generate 276,636 direct and indirect jobs. He emphasized that the wages offered would go beyond the regional minimum wage (UMR).
