Jakarta, July 7 -- Population and Family Development Minister Wihaji underlined the need for the government to ensure the availability of sufficient jobs to optimize the potential of the demographic bonus.
He said here on Monday that when there are more people in the productive age group than in the non-productive age group, their skills need to be improved so that they can answer industry challenges in the digital era.
"The main challenge is ensuring that productive-age people have jobs that match their skills," Wihaji explained.
The minister then compared human resource development to gold mining. As miners, companies must provide a platform to workers to learn and become the best the nation can offer.
