Jakarta, July 14 -- The Jakarta government is conducting a trial run of the Rorotan Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) facility in North Jakarta using dry waste from a waste processing facility under the reduce, reuse, and recycle concept (TPS 3R).

Head of the Integrated Waste Management Unit (UPST) of the Jakarta Provincial Environmental Service (DLH), Agung Pujo Winarko, on Monday informed that as part of the trial, the plant is converting 50 tons of dry waste into fuel per day.

In August 2025, its capacity will be increased to 150-500 tons per day with the addition of wet waste. The plan is to gradually raise the capacity to 500-2,500 tons by September, Winarko informed.
