Jakarta, July 18 -- The Indonesian government reported a sharp rise in the issuance of business permits and certifications for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the first half of 2025, reflecting ongoing regulatory reforms and improved interagency coordination.

Minister of Cooperatives and MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman said the progress underscores the government's commitment to streamlining business processes and making them more inclusive for MSMEs.

"Our goal is clear: to make business licensing and certification more accessible to MSMEs, giving them as much space as possible to grow," he said at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.
