Jakarta, Feb. 11 -- The Industry Ministry is pursuing integrated downstreaming in food and beverages to bolster non-oil processing industry (IPNM) competitiveness.

The move aims to increase the added value of domestic agro-based commodities.

In a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Industry Faizol Riza emphasized that the food and beverage sub-sector is a main pillar of IPNM's performance and plays a strategic role in national economic growth.

According to Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data, the IPNM sector is projected to grow by 5.30 percent in 2025, surpassing the national economic growth rate of 5.01 percent, and contributing 19.07 percent to the gross domestic product (GDP).
