Jakarta, June 2 -- The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is preparing the Village Electricity Program to provide access to electricity to more than 780 thousand households across Indonesia.

Director general of electricity at the ministry, Jisman P. Hutajulu, said in Jakarta on Monday that the program will aim to ensure equal access to electricity in the country.

Designed by the ministry in collaboration with state-run electricity company PLN, the program will be implemented in the 2025-2029 period.

During the period, the program will seek to provide access to electricity to at least 783,451 households, with the total capacity pegged at 394,157 kW.
