Denpasar, Bali, July 16 -- I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in the Indonesian resort island of Bali has commenced an asphalt overlay of its runway, with work scheduled from July 2025 to May of the following year.

The airport's general manager, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, explained that this overlay project is part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance efforts to ensure the reliability of the runway.

"For aircraft to safely take off and land, a flat and stable surface that meets aviation safety standards is essential," he noted in a statement cited in Denpasar City, Bali, on Wednesday.
