By AT Bureau, Aug. 27 -- In a Cabinet decision on 26th August 2020, government of Maharashtra decided to reduce the rate at which the stamp duty on real estate transactions are to be levied. The official circular yet to be notified and gazetted. The Stamp Duty in Maharashtra is 6% on the real estate transaction. This is proposed to be reduced by the Cabinet to 3% till December 2020 and thereafter 2% reduction is proposed means the Stamp Duty shall be 4% from January 2021 till March 2021.
