Moscow, April 28 -- US space company SpaceX launched on Sunday a Falcon 9 rocket with the European Galileo navigation satellite from a space center in Florida.

In March, Politico reported that the European Union had signed an agreement with the United States allowing it to launch Galileo navigation satellites using SpaceX rockets.

Two canceled launches that were supposed to proceed using Russia's Soyuz launcher from the EU's space center in French Guiana in April and September 2022, as well as a delay in the release of the EU homegrown Ariane 6 rocket system, forced Brussels to look for alternative capacities to urgently resume launches of its Galileo satellites, the report added.
