Mumbai, May 7 -- The BSE Sensex on Tuesday dropped 383.69 pts to settle down 73511.85 as selling was seen in Metal, Realty, Power and Oil and Gas stocks despite firm global market amid hope's of rate cuts this year.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 140.20 pts at 22,302.50.

The Sensex opened positive at 73973.30, up 79 pts. During the day it was rallied 132 pts at 74026 days high. Later, it was tumbled down 635 pts at 73259.26, days low before closing at 73511.85, sliding 383.69 pts from its last close.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,499.05 and 22,232.05 pts respectively.

The stocks that dragged the market were Realty by 3.41, Metal and Power by 2.26 pc each and Oil and Gas by 2.17 pc.
