Bhubaneswar, April 27 -- Two sitting BJD MLAs were denied party tickets on Saturday as party supremo Naveen Patnaik announced candidates for three Assembly seats in the eighth phase.

With the announcement of three candidates, the ruling BJD has so far declared party candidates for 144 of the total 147 Assembly seats.

The ruling party is yet to finalise the candidates for Khandpada, Nilagiri, and Korei Assembly seats. The BJD has expelled its sitting MLA from Khandapada Soumya Ranjan Patnaik for anti-party activities.

The party dropped Khurdha sitting MLA Jyotindra Nath Mitra and nominated Rajendra Kumar Sahu in his place while Goutam Budhha Das was named for Bhograi Assembly seat replacing four time MLA and former minister Ananta Das.
