Lucknow, April 26 -- Polling began for eight parliamentary constituencies spread over nine districts of Uttar Pradesh in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections amidst tight security arrangements on Friday, poll officials said here.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of UP, Navdeep Rinwa, said that the polling, which began at 7 am will continue till 6 pm. "Eight constituencies where polling is being held include Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulnadshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura. While seven seats are of general category, Bulandshahr has been reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC)," he said.
