Bhubaneswar, May 8 -- The sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have arrested four persons and recovered 3.77 Kgs of smuggled gold worth Rs 2.79 crore at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.

Official sources here on Wednesday said acting on specific intelligence, the DRI officials have nabbed four passengers who arrived in Bhubaneswar on May 6 last from Dubai.

During interrogation, the DRI officials came to know that the four had attempted to smuggle gold in paste form, by concealing them in their rectum.

The officials recovered 12 capsules containing gold in paste form, from the four passengers.
