Lucknow, March 9 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced seven candidates of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for which biennial elections are being held.

The list was released by party National Vice President Arun Singh.

The election to elect 13 members of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council will be held as their tenure is ending on May 5, 2024.

The voting, if required, will take place on March 21 and the counting of votes will take place after 5 pm on the same day.

The party has given a second chance to sitting MLC Vijay Bahadur Pathak and former minister Ashok Katariya. Besides, the party has named sitting MLC and former cabinet minister Dr Mahendra Kumar Singh as its candidate for the third consecutive term.
