Bangladesh, March 27 -- A general diary was filed with Islamic University police after a girl offered the university vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam Tk 10 lakh as bribe for a job through a WhatsApp message.

The text message was sent to the IU VC's personal WhatsApp number on Tuesday, a day before the recruitment tests for the computer operator and the computer typist held on the campus in Kushtia on Wednesday.

HM Ali Hasan, acting registrar at the University, filed the GD at Islamic University police station, said M Mamun Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of IU police station on Wednesday.
