NEW DELHI, April 28 -- The West Bengal government has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Calcutta High Court's April 10 order directing a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into allegations of land grabbing and sexual assault in Sandeshkhali. A bench of justices BR Gavai and Sandeep Mehta is scheduled to hear the matter on April 29, 2024.

West Bengal has challenged the Calcutta High Court's decision, arguing that it erroneously directed the CBI to investigate the complaints by the residents of Sandeshkhali.
