Dhaka, March 29 -- A Cumilla court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Jagannath University teacher Din Islam, who was relieved from the post of assistant proctor by the university, in a case over the death of law department student Fairuz Abontika.
Comilla District and Sessions Judge Nasrin Jahan passed the order around 12:30pm.
This is the second time Din Islam's bail was rejected by the court.
Earlier, on March 20, Comilla Senior Judicial Magistrate M Abu Bakar Siddique rejected his bail application.
On March 19, a Comilla court sent Din Islam to jail after the completion of his one-day remand.
