This day serves as a poignant reminder of the brutality inflicted upon unarmed Bangalees, marking a dark chapter in the nation's history.

The government undertook various programmes to honour the memory of the victims at the state level, underscoring the significance of remembering and acknowledging the atrocities committed.

As part of the commemoration, a symbolic one-minute 'blackout' was observed nationwide from 11:00 p.m. to 11:01 p.m., paying homage to those who lost their lives in the tragic events of 1971.
