New Delhi, May 2 -- Travel technology company Sabre Corporation on Thursday announced the appointment of Ashish Kasi as vice president of platform engineering for the check-in and fulfilment portfolio in India, driving its various digital initiatives and will be based out of Bengaluru.

This team plays a crucial role in delivering critical fulfilment capabilities for airlines and travel agencies, which includes the issuance of electronic travel documents, enhancing exchanges and refund workflows, augmenting distribution capabilities, and evolving airport check-in experiences and departure control systems, among various others.

Kasi is a veteran global leader with over 28 years of experience in the technology domain, taking on various leadership and Engineering roles during this time. He has spearheaded the development of cloud-based SaaS products, retail and supply chain solutions, real-time data analytics, conversational AI platforms, and CRM services for global markets.

Most recently, he served as the VP and GM of India for Conviva, which deals in online video optimization and analytics. He has also held leadership positions at [24]7.ai, Capillary Technologies, and Yahoo, among others. A passionate advocate for innovation, Ashish has also mentored several start-ups and NGOs in the education and health-tech space.

An Engineering graduate from Bangalore University, Kasi also holds a master's in computer science from Stony Brook University, New York.

In January, the firm announced the appointment of Samuel Machado as Managing Director for India and South Asia business operations. In his new role, Machado, based in Mumbai, rejoined the company, bringing nearly two decades of industry expertise, including 12 years dedicated to serving Sabre for Hospitality Solutions until January 2023. He then joined Teleperformance as the Senior VP of Business Development for Travel & Hospitality in APAC operations.

Last month, Sabre Corporation appointed Rajiv Bhatia to help advance its growth strategy in Asia Pacific. Bhatia, formerly of Bird Group, joins as Executive Director, of APAC Market Expansion and will be instrumental in further expanding Sabre's footprint in key growth markets, including India.
