Bhubaneswar, March 20 -- At a time when there is no clear picture regarding the possibility of an alliance between the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah today said the saffron party will form government in the state if it fights the upcoming assembly elections on its own without any coalition.

Shah was speaking at News 18's Rising Bharat Summit.

On being asked if the BJP and the BJD will come together, Shah said, "We are yet to decide on that. The BJP President will take a decision in this regard. But it is certain that we will make massive gains in Odisha. If we fight alone, we will form government in the state."
