Bhubaneswar, April 27 -- With mercury on the rise at several places in Odisha and as heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail over several districts of the State till May 1, at least thirteen places witnessed day temperatures above 43 Degrees Celsius, today.

Angul town recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature at 44.7 Degrees Celsius. It was followed by Bhubaneswar (44.6), Baripada (44.2), Bhawanipatna, Boudh, and Dhenkanal each (43.7), Jharsuguda, and Nuapada each (43.6), Bolangir, Nayagarh, Jajpur, and Talcher each (43.5) and Cuttack (43.4).
