KATHMANDU, March 26 -- The Department of Tourism is issuing permits for climbers aiming to conquer Mt Everest, the world's highest peak, starting today.

According to the Department, the issuance of mountaineering permits for the spring mountaineering season has been initiated.

Among these, four climbers have secured permission to scale Mt Ama Dablam, five for Himlung, one for Jugal, and 24 for Mt Annapurna.

The Department has facilitated online booking arrangements for mountaineers interested in climbing.
