Bhubaneswar, April 23 -- For the second consecutive day, mercury continued with its upward trend in Bhubaneswar, thereby affecting normal life on Tuesday as well. By 11:30 am today, Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees, which was the highest in Odisha.

Earlier on Monday, the Capital city was the hottest place in Odisha with a maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees. This was for the first time this season that Bhubaneswar had recorded the highest maximum temperature.

Not only in Odisha, Bhubaneswar also featured in the country's heat map as it matched the temperature with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh at 43.8 degrees yesterday.
