Protestors burn effigies of 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs in Manipur
Imphal, May 4 -- Effigies of 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs who enjoy collecting crores of rupees from the government coffer without attending/discharging their offices/duties for the past year were set aflame.
The effigies were burnt during a protest demonstration organised by various organisations including PYAL, Thougei Pangei Yangdong, PYYDA, and WWA Pangei at Pangei Yangong in Imphal East district as a mark of completion of one year of the ethnic violence in the state.
Irate protestors during the function alleged that these MLAs are still taking their full benefits, entitled to them by sending neutral persons, who would face no danger in Imphal, to the state assembly secretariat.
