Afghanistan, May 2 -- Rina Amiri, the Special Representative for Women's Affairs in Afghanistan, condemned the recent attack on Shia Muslims in Herat province.

Ms. Amiri wrote on her X account on Thursday, May 2nd, that this violent act reminds us of the vulnerable communities' exposure to harassment and torture.

The Islamic State (ISIS) group claimed responsibility for the attack on a Shia mosque in Herat late on Tuesday.
