Srinagar, April 14 -- The past 24 hours witnessed widespread rainfall across the plains in Jammu and Kashmir, while higher reaches have received snowfall on Sunday, officials said here.

An official said that the region experienced light to moderate rainfall across most areas, coupled with light snowfall in higher reaches, including Gurez valley over the past 24 hours.

The MeT forecast indicates a continuation of cloudy conditions with the likelihood of light to moderate rain and snowfall in higher elevations for the next few days. Specifically, from April 14th to 15th, the region is expected to witness widespread rainfall, with the possibility of heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds at isolated locations.
