Manipur, May 6 -- Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey has urged for a permanent housing society for displaced families to the government.

Speaking to the media on the side of a programme, she stressed the importance of swift government intervention to provide permanent housing solutions.

"I have urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to expedite efforts towards resettlement, ensuring a conducive environment for families, particularly for children to thrive", the Governor said.

Speaking about the ongoing violence in the state, the Governor expressed confidence that the situation is gradually improving across the state. Peace is slowly returning, she said but expressed concern for displaced families.
