Mumbai, Jan. 23 -- The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday rose by 50 points to 36,494.12 in the opening trade as buying was seen in Materials, Capital Goods, Technology and Utilities. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too improved by 9 points to 10,931.05.



The sectoral indices that pushed the sensex were Materials, Capital Goods, Technology and Utilities.



The sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,521.47 and 36,363.61 respectively.



The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,942.55 and 10,905.50 points respectively.



The gainers were Hind Unilever by 1.72 pc to Rs 1780, Yes Bank by 1.51 pc to Rs 195, Tata Steel by 1.19 pc to Rs 462.25 and Bajaj Finance by 0.90 pc to rs 2640.10....
