Muzaffarpur, June 25 -- With the arrest of district child protection officer (DCPO), police claimed to have made significant progress in the case related to sexual exploitation of minor girls at a shelter home here. The DCPO was arrested from his residence in Khabra locality under sadar police station limits of the town Sunday morning.

Confirming the arrest, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Harpreet Kaur said she had got specific information about the hideout of DCPO Ravi Raushan.

"I constituted a team, led by deputy SP (town) Mukul Ranjan to nab him. The team arrested him from his private resident in Khabralocalityofthetown,"she said She said action was taken in thewakeofstatementsofthevictim girls, who identified Raushan.
