Eicher Motors' JV launches AMT-powered trucks, buses

India, March 24 -- Eicher Motors and Volvo Group's joint venture firm, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has introduced Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) equipped range of medium duty trucks and 9-16 tonne buses which it hopes will drive sales on higher fuel efficiency. Prices of these AMT-powered vehicles are expected to be 5-6 per cent higher than the conventional transmission vehicles.
