New Delhi, April 7 -- A row erupted on Saturday after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge took a swipe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for raising in Rajasthan the issue of removal of Article 370, which he incorrectly referred to as Article 371, with Union home minister Amit Shah saying that the opposition party's "Italian culture" is to be blamed for not understanding the very idea of India. The Congress claimed Kharge had "inadvertently" exposed the "Modi-Shah game plan" of wanting to make changes in Article 371.

Shah shared a short clip of Kharge's speech on X, in which he is heard targeting the ruling party for talking about removal of Article 370 in Rajasthan.
