Sri Lanka, May 8 -- Justice Minister Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapakshe emphasised in Parliament yesterday that there is no provision to impart judicial powers to any local or foreign person or institution other than the Sri Lankan judiciary according to the Constitution.

The Minister mentioned that there is a judicial system properly established in this country according to the Constitution and he said that the public have reached certain conclusions based on the past activities of the members of the JVP.

During 1988-1989, the JVP had set fire to 27 Courts in the country and declared that they set fire to the Homagama court and put the judge's coat on a Bull and let the Bull walk around the city.
