Sri Lanka, March 18 -- On March 13, Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Hideaki Mizukoshi signed the grant contract of the project under the scheme 'Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects' (GGP), with Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake, Chairperson of Indira Cancer Trust.

The Government of Japan has provided a total sum of US$ 51,675 (approximately Rs. 16 million) through the GGP to the Indira Cancer Trust to establish a healing garden at their palliative care centre 'Suwa Arana' in Maharagama.

The Government of Japan has supported 320 projects through the GGP, for which more than US$ 58.4 million has been allocated since 1989.
