Sri Lanka, May 4 -- Former UNP Parliamentarian Hirunika Premachandra yesterday made a dock statement before the Colombo High Court, asserting her innocence in the case filed against her and eight other accused for alleged involvement in the abduction of a youth, using a Defender.

The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja.

Premachandra, making a dock statement, said that on the day of the alleged incident, she had a discussion with former minister Rajitha Senaratne, before attending another event.

She added that she was at the event at that time of the incident, and that the other accused, who had pleaded guilty before the court, had seized her car without her consent and utilized it.
